If so, Randstad is recruiting for a Senior Social Worker to join the Birmingham Trust- This is a full-time role offering up to £30.50 per hour.
Here's the Role:
- Managing Complex Caseloads: Holding and managing a caseload of children subject to child protection plans, child in need plans, and those on the edge of care. This includes undertaking statutory visits, assessments, and interventions.
- Child Protection Expertise: Leading on child protection enquiries (Section 47), strategy discussions, and initial child protection conferences, ensuring robust risk assessment and safety planning.
- Evidence-Based Practice: Undertaking thorough and analytical assessments of risk, need, and protective factors, developing and implementing effective, child-centred safeguarding plans.
- Direct Work with Children and Families: Engaging directly with children and their families to understand their experiences, build trusting relationships, and promote positive change.
- Multi-Agency Collaboration: Working intensively and effectively with a range of professionals and agencies, including police, health, education, and voluntary sector partners, to ensure a coordinated approach to safeguarding.
- Practice Leadership and Mentoring: Providing expert advice, guidance, and mentoring to less experienced social workers and team members, sharing your knowledge and promoting high standards of practice.
- Court Work (as required): Preparing clear and concise reports for court, and confidently representing the Local Authority in legal proceedings if cases progress to court.
- Promoting Strengths-Based Approaches: Working collaboratively with families to identify their strengths and develop sustainable solutions to ensure children's long-term safety and wellbeing.
- Record Keeping and Compliance: Maintaining accurate, comprehensive, and timely case records in line with statutory requirements, Trust policies, and best practice standards.

Requirements:
- Social Work England registered
- Social Work Degree or equivalent
- Enhanced DBS
Experience:
- Children's Social Work
