Project Overview
We are seeking an experienced Site Engineer to join a major heavy civils and infrastructure project in Dartford. This is a secure 12-month contract delivering a 77m x 10m underpass structure.
The scope involves Sprayed Concrete Lining (SCL) primary lining, secondary lining, waterproofing membranes, deep excavations, and heavy reinforced concrete work.
Key Responsibilities
- Site Supervision & Engineering: Oversee daily operational delivery of the 77m underpass, coordinating SCL operations, primary/secondary lining, and waterproofing packages.
- Health & Safety Leadership: Enforce strict safety protocols within underground and enclosed working environments, review RAMS, and deliver daily site briefings.
- Subcontractor Control: Direct trade gangs, specialist sub-contractors, and site plant to maintain daily output targets in line with 3-week lookahead schedules.
- Quality Assurance & Reporting: Oversee Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), log daily site diaries, and track structural tolerances alongside the engineering team.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience: Demonstrable background delivering heavy civils, SCL tunnelling, shaft sinking, underpasses, or major underground structural packages.
- Working Pattern: Comfortable working standard site hours of 07:00 - 18:00.
Mandatory Certifications
- Triple Ticket: SSSTS (or SMSTS), CSCS Card, and First Aid at Work.
- Underground Tickets: Valid Tunnelling Ticket (e.g., TSTS - Tunnelling Safety Training Scheme) OR Confined Spaces (Medium/High Risk).
