Key Responsibilities
- Caseload Management: Hold a complex but manageable caseload of Looked After Children (LAC) who require long-term permanence planning.
- Care Planning: Develop, monitor, and review comprehensive care plans, ensuring the child's voice, wishes, and feelings are at the center of all decision-making.
- Court & Statutory Work: Prepare high-quality reports for LAC reviews, adoption panels, and court proceedings where necessary.
- Transitions: Support children through transitions, whether that is into long-term foster care, connected persons placements, adoption, or transitioning to independence.
- Multi-Agency Collaboration: Work closely with foster carers, residential staff, health professionals, and education providers to ensure a holistic approach to the child's wellbeing.
Requirements
- Qualifications: A recognized Social Work qualification (Degree, DipSW, CQSW).
- Registration: Active and current registration with Social Work England (SWE).
- Experience: Significant post-qualifying experience in statutory Children's Social Care, ideally within a Permanence, Looked After Children, or Court team setting.
- Knowledge: A robust understanding of the Children Act 1989/2004 and relevant safeguarding legislation.
- Practicalities: Enhanced DBS clearance and preferably a full UK driving license with access to a vehicle.
