We are seeking a dedicated and inspiring Teacher of Geography to join an oversubscribed, high-performing 11-16 academy in Rainham. This isn't just a teaching job; it's an invitation to join a mission-driven team united against educational disadvantage. We believe in a knowledge-rich curriculum that takes students far beyond their everyday experiences, opening doors to global perspectives and future aspirations.
Why Join This Team?
We do things differently here. We prioritize subject expertise and staff well-being over "performative" teaching metrics.

Early Finish Fridays: We value your time and offer an early start to your weekend.
Professional Growth: As a "Leading Edge" school, we are at the forefront of educational research. You will receive bespoke support and opportunities for progression within a wider national federation.
A "Subject-First" Culture: We believe the subject should determine the pedagogy. You'll have the autonomy to be a true specialist.
The Role
As a Geography Teacher and Form Tutor, you will:
Deliver a broad, balanced, and differentiated curriculum that challenges and motivates.
Contribute to the strategic planning of the department, developing innovative resources for KS3 and KS4.
Foster a safe, high-expectation learning environment where students feel empowered to achieve.
Engage in continuous professional development, staying at the cutting edge of geographical education.
What You Bring
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant undergraduate degree.
Experience: Successful teaching experience at the secondary level (this can include teaching practice). Experience in multi-ethnic urban environments is highly valued.
Mindset: A fierce determination to raise aspirations and provide equality of access for all students.
Skills: Strong ICT proficiency (including interactive whiteboards), excellent communication, and the ability to build positive relationships with staff and parents alike.
Exceptional Benefits
We reward our staff's dedication with a comprehensive package:
Financial Incentives: Harris Allowance (£1,500 for Outer London) plus a Performance and Loyalty Bonus.
Health & Wellbeing: Wellbeing Cash Plan and an Employee Assistance Programme.
Future Security: Access to the Teachers' Pension Scheme.
Growth: Fantastic opportunities for career development as the school expands to include a Sixth Form.
