A forward-thinking secondary school in Romford is seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated Teacher of Hospitality & Catering with Design & Technology (DT) to join their team as soon as possible.
This is a full-time position delivering dynamic practical and theoretical lessons. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in delivering the WJEC / EDUQAS Vocational Award in Hospitality and Catering, alongside supporting general Design & Technology teaching across key stages.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, deliver, and assess engaging lessons for the WJEC / EDUQAS Hospitality & Catering specification.
- Teach Design & Technology (DT) across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
- Maintain high standards of safety, hygiene, and classroom management in practical environments.
- Monitor pupil progress, providing targeted feedback and support for both coursework and practical exams.
- Foster a creative, supportive learning environment that encourages high achievement and practical skill development.
Requirements
- Essential: Proven experience and ability to teach the WJEC / EDUQAS Hospitality & Catering specification.
- Essential: QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or QTLS (or strong ECT/unqualified candidates with proven specialist experience).
- Ability to deliver general Design & Technology (DT) lessons.
- Strong practical skills paired with effective classroom management.
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one prior to appointment).
