Key Requirements- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Holds QTS, QTLS, or an equivalent recognised UK teaching qualification.
- Enhanced DBS: A valid Enhanced DBS clearance registered on the Update Service (or a willingness to apply for one).
- Curriculum Knowledge: Up-to-date knowledge of current educational frameworks and GCSE Maths exam board specifications (e.g., Edexcel, AQA).
- Eligibility to Work: Valid legal entitlement to work full-time in the UK.
- Advanced Subject Knowledge: Deep understanding of the UK National Curriculum for Mathematics, including algebra, geometry, ratio, and statistics.
- Behavior Management: Ability to implement positive behaviour strategies to maintain a focused, productive learning environment.
- Differentiated Instruction: Skill in tailoring lessons to accommodate diverse learning needs, stretching high-retainers while scaffolding for SEND and EAL students.
- Data Analysis: Proficiency in tracking student progress data to identify mathematical misconceptions and implement swift interventions.
- Formative Assessment: Expertise in utilising live marking, low-stakes testing, and verbal feedback to push student progress.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for breaking down abstract concepts and engaging students, parents, and colleagues.
- Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality, engaging Mathematics lessons that challenge and support all students.
- Assess, record, and report on the development, progress, and attainment of assigned pupils.
- Set high expectations for student behaviour, maintaining a purposeful, safe, and mathematically rich classroom climate.
- Contribute to the development and review of the department's schemes of work and mastery resources.
- Participate in parents' evenings, departmental meetings, and whole-school training days.
- Act as a Form Tutor, providing pastoral care and supporting the holistic development of students.
- Identify students requiring extra support and implement targeted interventions to boost GCSE achievement.
- Uphold and implement all school and Trust policies, including safeguarding and health and safety.
- Mark students work regularly in line with the school's feedback and assessment policy.
- Engage continuously in professional development to refine pedagogy and improve teaching practice.
