Randstad Education is seeking reliable and enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to work on a 1:1 basis with pupils who need additional support to succeed in the classroom. In this role, you will provide consistent 1:1 support throughout the school day, helping the pupil access the curriculum, stay engaged with learning, and develop confidence and independence. Duties may include supporting literacy and numeracy tasks, managing behaviour positively, assisting with emotional needs, and helping the pupil follow routines and expectations.
You will work closely with teachers and SEN staff to implement tailored support strategies and monitor progress. A proactive and adaptable approach is essential, as the needs of the pupil may vary throughout the day. The role suits individuals who are empathetic, patient, and confident in supporting children with additional needs.
Candidate expectations
- Previous experience with children or young people in schools, nurseries, or care settings
- A genuine interest in SEN and inclusive education
- Strong communication skills and a professional attitude
- An enhanced DBS, or willingness to complete one
- Eligibility to work in the UK
