Primary Teaching Assistant | East Grinstead, West Sussex

About the Role
This is a full-time, term-time-only position where you will play a vital role in supporting students across Early Years, Key Stage 1, or Key Stage 2. We need an enthusiastic and patient individual to assist the class teacher, create a positive learning environment, and provide crucial support to pupils, particularly those with Special Educational Needs (SEN). Experience with SEN is highly desirable, as you may be working one-on-one or with small groups.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons.
- Provide one-on-one or small group support, especially for pupils with SEN.
- Help prepare classroom materials and displays.
- Promote positive behaviour and encourage pupil independence.
- Work collaboratively with teachers and other staff to meet students' needs.
What We're Looking For
- Experience working in a primary school setting (paid or voluntary).
- A caring, patient, and adaptable approach.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Experience or an understanding of various additional needs (e.g., ASD, ADHD, speech and language).
- A DBS on the update service or a willingness to apply for one.
