Core Responsibilities
- Operational Team Leadership: Directly manage and support a locality team of 8 Social Workers undertaking statutory assessments, Child in Need (CIN), Child Protection (CP), and PLO/Court work.
- Practice & Case Management: Oversee complex casework, ensure robust court reporting, and drive outcome-focused care planning for children and families across Wakefield.
- Supervision & Development: Provide reflective supervision, manage performance, and maintain high standards of practice across the team.
- Duty Management: Oversee team triage and incoming workload during designated duty weeks (1 in 4).
Mandatory Candidate Criteria
- Professional Body: Qualified Social Worker with active Social Work England registration.
- Management Experience: Must have proven prior experience managing a frontline statutory Children's Fieldwork / Locality team.
- Frontline Knowledge: In-depth legal and operational knowledge of Section 47 assessments, CIN, CP frameworks, PLO, and court proceedings.
