About the Opportunity
We are recruiting on behalf of a leading international automotive manufacturer that supplies premium components globally. They are seeking a Technical Trainer to take full ownership of their Northern territory. This role is a perfect blend of hands-on expertise and industry education. You will take the deep technical knowledge you have built in the workshop and use it to educate the industry, travel the territory, and represent a reputable and premium brand.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will lead the delivery of high-impact technical training to garages, workshops, and distribution partners across the region, while supporting internal commercial teams. Your duties will include:
Training Delivery & Development: Design, update, and deliver enthusiastic, high-standard training modules (both theory and practical) covering advanced vehicle electronics, oscilloscope diagnostics, and complex engine management strategies.
Knowledge Sharing: Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for engine management, transmission systems, and electronics, breaking down complex technical issues so they are easily accessible to everyone from apprentices to master technicians.
Brand Ambassadorship: Represent the company's elite technical and garage support network at major industry trade shows and events across the UK and Republic of Ireland.
Warranty Evaluation: Work closely with the Warranty Department to complete technical evaluations of claims, confidently feeding back to claimants on high-importance claims with a professional, expert approach.
Territory Coverage: Travel across the North of England, Scotland, and Ireland with a high-tech training setup to deliver face-to-face sessions (a dedicated company training van is provided).
Candidate Requirements
We are looking for a highly skilled diagnostic specialist who is comfortable presenting to groups and passionate about sharing their technical knowledge.
Qualifications & Experience:
Master Technician ("MasterTech") status or equivalent prestige manufacturer experience.
Car Mechanical Knowledge with a specialisation in engine management, transmission systems, and advanced diagnostics/oscilloscopes.
Confident presenting to both large groups and engaging with individuals one-on-one.
An independent, organised workflow with the ability to manage a diverse and varied schedule.
A valid driving license and a full willingness to travel nationally across the territory, alongside occasional European travel for collaborative sessions.
Desirable Skills (Not Essential):
Knowledge of EV/Hybrid systems with a Level 3 or 4 qualification in high-voltage systems.
Previous experience in training, teaching, mentoring, or technical writing.
