We are currently recruiting for trainee SEN teachers local to you. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain a CABAS teaching qualification whilst earning! You start your career in the school as a 1:1 Teaching assistant and with training will develop into a teaching role. This is a 2 year programme and is fully funded by the school.
This role requires a committed, compassionate, and creative individual who can design, plan, and deliver teaching sessions with students in a hands-on learning environment.
This primary and secondary specialist school supports learners between the ages of 5-18 years with an Autism diagnosis or associated needs. The setting currently supports 110 pupils and is at full capacity. This is 1 of the leading ABA/Cabas schools in the country.
This role is open to part time applicants. Candidates must be available a minimum 3 days a week. The working hours are Monday-Friday 08:45-4:45pm.

This role involves a wide range of duties:
- Providing behaviourally based instruction to pupils to assist them in achieving their full potential.
- Contributing in the production, organisation and production of individualised teaching materials.
- Providing support to students with autism and understanding their individual needs and following their individualised curriculum's.
- Developing your own understanding of ASD and associated disabilities and furthering your personal development through practical and theoretical training.
- Taking part in extra-curricular and off-site activities with pupils during school hours.
- Encouraging pupils personal and environmental hygiene; providing personal care as necessary.
What is required?
- Some experience working with children and disabilities.
- Minimum Grade C/4 GCSE in English Language & Maths or equivalent.
- Comfortable working with children who exhibit challenging behaviour.
- Comfortable supporting others with personal/intimate care where required.
- Ability to keep calm in high pressure situations.
- Drivers licence or access to a lift (due to remote location).
