Do you love helping children grow in confidence? Want a role where no two days are the same? Ready to make a real difference in a child's life?
Randstad Education is currently seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated 1:1 Support Assistant to work with a fantastic primary school in South Liverpool. This specific role involves supporting a pupil in Upper Key Stage 2 (UKS2), helping them navigate their final years of primary school with confidence and success.
If you're passionate about education and want to be part of a supportive school community where your 1:1 impact truly matters, this is the perfect opportunity for you.
Why This Role?
- Targeted Impact: Ever wondered what it feels like to be the reason a child finally "gets it"?
- Stability & Connection: Would you enjoy being the calm, consistent presence an older primary pupil relies on?
- Purpose-Driven: Do you want a career that's rewarding, meaningful, and helps a child transition successfully toward secondary school?
As a 1:1 Support Assistant in UKS2, you will play a vital role in both the academic and emotional development of a specific child. You will be their champion, helping them break down complex tasks and manage the social-emotional challenges of Year 5 or 6.
What Will You Be Doing?
- Providing dedicated 1:1 support to a UKS2 pupil to help them access the curriculum.
- Helping the child stay engaged, focused, and motivated during more advanced lesson topics.
- Supporting the pupil with specific needs (which may include SEND, SEMH, or behavioural challenges).
- Acting as a bridge between the class teacher and the pupil to ensure learning goals are met.
- Boosting the child's self-esteem and independence as they prepare for the move to Key Stage 3.
Who Are We Looking For?
We are looking for someone patient, encouraging, and confident in a classroom setting. Because this is Upper Key Stage 2, you should be comfortable supporting children with more advanced primary subjects and navigating the social dynamics of older pupils.
We welcome applicants from a variety of backgrounds, particularly those with experience in:
- Primary schools (specifically KS2)
- SEND settings or 1:1 support roles
- Youth work or coaching
- Care/support work for children with ASD, ADHD, or SEMH needs
Note: A positive, "can-do" attitude and the ability to build a strong rapport with an older child are just as important as your previous experience.
What Randstad Education Can Offer You
- Competitive weekly pay.
- A dedicated consultant who will support you throughout the placement.
- Access to CPD and training (e.g., Team Teach, Safeguarding).
- The chance to build a long-term relationship with a friendly, welcoming school.
Ready to Get Started?
If you're ready to inspire, support, and make a lasting difference for a child in South Liverpool, we want to hear from you today.
