Are you an enthusiastic, nurturing, and highly motivated Key Stage 1 specialist seeking a dependable, full-time classroom appointment for the upcoming academic year?
Do you excel at establishing an inspiring, structured, and inclusive learning space where Year 2 pupils feel confident to challenge themselves, build foundational skills, and transition smoothly through their early schooling?
We are seeking a Qualified Year 2 Teacher for a full-time, long-term contract beginning in September 2026. This position is perfectly tailored for an educator who genuinely enjoys the energy of Key Stage 1, understands the balance of play-based and structured learning, and thrives in a school culture that values child-centric instruction, innovative lesson design, and genuine staff camaraderie.
Key Responsibilities:

- Progress Tracking & Assessment: Monitor student milestones using robust formative evaluation tools, translating daily data into effective reading, writing, and mathematical support, target setting, or tailored enrichment activities.
- Classroom Team Leadership: Coordinate and collaborate with your classroom Teaching Assistants constructively, ensuring pupils with SEND and EAL requirements receive targeted, empowering guidance during independent and group work.
- Positive Environment: Foster a calm, stimulating, and respectful classroom culture rooted in positive reinforcement, clear operational routines, and emotional safety.
- Parental Partnership: Maintain transparent, professional, and consistent communication with parents and guardians regarding student breakthroughs, reading progress, behaviour, and overall well-being.
- Collaborative School Contribution: Participate actively in phase planning sessions, routine staff meetings, professional development days, and whole-school events.
What You'll Bring to the School

- Curriculum Confidence: A comprehensive, modern understanding of the KS1 curriculum framework, continuous assessment practices, and effective phonics frameworks (such as Little Wandle or Read Write Inc.) alongside mastery-approach numeracy strategies.
- Confident Classroom Management: The ability to establish clear boundaries, hold young students to high behavioural expectations, and inspire a focused, optimistic learning atmosphere from day one.
- Long-Term Consistency: The professional reliability to commit to a full-time, Monday-to-Friday teaching schedule starting in September 2026 for the full academic year.
