Jenny is currently the lead Consultant for the Lancashire & Blackpool primary team. She has worked within the recruitment and sales industry for the last 15 years, specialising in primary education recruitment for the last 5 years. Jenny's first recruitment role was as an executive search & selection consultant where she enjoyed liaising with major blue chip companies and head hunting senior executives from around the world. However, further to her work in the community as a special police constable, Jenny realised her passion for working with the youth in society and quickly transferred to a career within education recruitment. This is where Jenny has remained, recruiting firstly for teachers and support workers in Torbay & South Devon in her home town of Exeter and now after relocating North, she successfully recruits for teachers throughout Chorley & East Lancashire. When not at work or training for her next half marathon Jenny spends a lot of her time with her family in Devon & London.

Randstad Education - Preston

Branch Specialities

The Preston branch houses a team of 8 dedicated consultants who work with a variety of educational settings across 3 local authorities. Although based in Preston city centre, the branch covers Lancashire, Blackpool and Blackburn local authorities. We have grown consistently as an office over the last 3 years and built up an excellent reputation with schools across these local authorities. We work exclusively with a number of schools and supplying teacher and teaching support staff.

The Preston offices have 4 specialized divisions which are Primary, Secondary, Special Educational Needs & Early Years. We therefore look to recruit a wide variety of teachers and support staff to work across a number of settings. We offer continuous professional development through a number of free programmes and courses to ensure our staff are well equipped to offer the best service possible to our schools. We also work in partnership with Blackpool Council through our BESS arm to the business (Blackpool Education Supply Service) offering a multi functional online booking system, offering our clients multiple ways to work with us in a way that suits them. As an office we all work extremely hard and believe passionately about the support and solutions that we offer our local schools which is achieved by our strong ethos of putting the child at the centre of everything we do.

Working in the Community

As part of our on-going commitment to our schools we work closely in supporting them with other needs other than teaching and support staff. Randstad Preston deliver regular CV and interview workshops with the secondary schools that we work with, helping facilitate the days, offering advice and guidance to the students allowing them to work with professionals and gain an understanding of what to expect in the working world.

We have supported many extra curricular activities with our most recent success being our ‘grow a sunflower’ competition in which our primary schools competed to see who could grow the tallest sunflower in return for some new gardening equipment for school. We offer referral bonuses to both schools and candidates when recommending teaching and support staff to work for Randstad to continually give back to the people who we are working with. We support both schools and staff in the development of important matters outside of the classroom such as legislation changes. We have presented at local head teacher cluster meetings and schools to keep them informed of changes such as AWR, Pensions & Pay and conditions. We are always open to new ideas and offer to support and like to help our schools in any way we can.

Testimonials

Randstad have helped me develop in confidence and take on the most challenging settings through finding me a wide variety of work and long term placements. Randstad Education in Preston are a hard working team and extremely supportive, thank you for all of your commitment at ensuring I had work (plenty of it) over the last two years. Again I thank you very much for all of your encouragement, I’ll be sure to contact you if I ever need support with finding work again.
Kayleigh – Primary Teacher

After looking into a few different supply agencies I chose to work with Randstad and I am extremely glad I did. The consultants I work with are extremely good at finding work for me and know my preferences regarding age groups and schools. This is important to me because it makes my job more enjoyable. They also keep me informed on feedback received from schools. The work provided for me by Randstad had opened my eyes to year groups that I wouldn't have thought I would enjoy as well as giving me a world of experience in different schools. Before working for Randstad I had never taught reception and now I have fallen in love with teaching in the foundation stage! I would definitely recommend Randstad to new teachers!
Kim – Primary Teacher

I chose to work with Randstad Education initially because the many visitor entries by there supply teachers in the visitor books in schools where I was working. Once established with Randstad, I soon found out why. In a short time I found myself working more often and being dealt with in a very positive and professional Manner. The schools I work at have a very positive relationship with my consultant and I can tell that he visits them on a regular basis. When given a new assignment, my consultant always provides a detailed account of what to expect. This helps when working at a new school. I have been working with them since November 2012 and Randstad have fulfilled all my needs. They are also very proactive with the provision of training to accommodate my constant professional development. I am very happy with Randstad and look forward to a long working relationship with them.
Greg – Secondary Teacher

I have worked for Randstad for 8 years (including when it was Select) and have always been very happy with the service offered. The staff have always been friendly and helpful and provided me with the amount of work I am looking for in schools which I have enjoyed working for. I have used several other agencies since becoming a supply teacher none of which came up to the quality of service provided by Randstad. As a result for the last 4 years Randstad is the only agency I have needed and the only agency I will use for the foreseeable future.
