Randstad Education is currently looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Teaching Assistant to support a child 1:1 in Y4 with ASD. You will need to have at least 6 months teaching assistant experience within a primary setting as well as knowledge and expertise in supporting children with Autism and ADHD. The role is for an immediate start within a primary school in Huyton.
Key Responsibilities
- 1:1 & Targeted Small Group Support: Deliver tailored learning interventions to help pupils master core subjects and build academic confidence.
- SEND & Inclusion: Support children with additional needs, including Autism (ASD), ADHD, Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) requirements, and speech/language challenges.
- Classroom Engagement: Assist class teachers with managing behavior, keeping pupils focused, and setting up learning activities.
- Pastoral & Wellbeing Support: Act as a calm, positive mentor, encouraging resilience and self-belief in young learners.
What We Are Looking For
- Previous experience supporting children or young adults in education, youth work, nursery, care, or SEND settings.
- A patient, encouraging, and adaptable approach to different learning needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or a willingness to apply for one).
