About the Role: Are you an experienced and empathetic Social Worker with a strong background in adult protection?
Wirral Council is urgently seeking a dedicated Adult Safeguarding Social Worker to join our fast-paced and supportive team. In this vital role, you will be at the forefront of protecting adults at risk of abuse or neglect, ensuring their voices are heard and their rights are upheld through the "Making Safeguarding Personal" framework.

🔍 Key Responsibilities:
- Investigate & Protect: Lead and manage complex Section 42 safeguarding enquiries under the Care Act 2014.
- Risk Assessment: Conduct comprehensive, person-centered risk assessments and formulate effective safety plans.
- Multi-Agency Collaboration: Work seamlessly with health professionals, the police, legal teams, and care providers to investigate concerns and implement protective strategies.
- Advocacy & Legislation: Apply expert knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act (MCA) and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) to ensure proportionate and lawful interventions.
- Case Management: Maintain accurate, high-quality case records and present clear reports at multi-agency safeguarding hubs/meetings.
📋 What You Need to Succeed:
- Qualifications: A degree in Social Work (BA/BSc/MA or equivalent).
- Registration: Current and active registration with Social Work England (SWE).
- Experience: Proven post-qualifying experience specifically within Adult Safeguarding, with a deep understanding of statutory frameworks (Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005).
- Skills: Excellent analytical, communication, and conflict-resolution skills, with the ability to manage a complex caseload efficiently.
