Are you an experienced Children's Social Worker seeking a dynamic 12-week placement in an authority committed to restorative, child-centred practice?
Blackpool Council is currently seeking a skilled Children's Social Worker to join their Assessment & Support Team for a 12-week contract. Earning a competitive £39.00 per hour, you will practice using the innovative "Blackpool Families Rock" model-working with families to build trusted relationships and prevent needs from escalating.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assessments & Short-Term Support: Complete robust Child & Family Assessments and deliver short-term Child in Need (CIN) plans, ensuring smooth transitions to Early Help support where appropriate.
- Safeguarding Enquiries: Lead on Section 47 child protection enquiries and prepare families for Initial Child Protection Conferences (ICPC).
- Court & Specialist Work: Undertake Section 7 private family court proceedings, emergency Initial Care Proceedings when required, and joint housing assessments for homeless young people.
- Relational Practice: Build co-produced, strengths-based relationships with children, families, and partner agencies to manage risks at the lowest possible intervention level.
What We Are Looking For:
- Professional Registration: Active registration with Social Work England (SWE).
- Core Competencies: Proven post-qualifying experience in statutory Assessment, Child Protection (S47), and Private/Public Court frameworks (S7/PLO).
- Practice Ethos: Passionate about restorative practice, transparency, and holistic family support.
