The Role
SEN Trainee Tutor
Location: Grinstead Lane, Sharpthorne, East Sussex
Monday-Friday | 8:45am-5:00pm (4:30pm finish on Fridays)
Approximately 42 weeks per year across three academic terms
Salary: £20,000-£22,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

Key Responsibilities
As a Trainee Tutor, you will:
- Deliver individualised 1:1 teaching sessions tailored to pupil needs
- Support pupils with autism and communication needs using behaviourally based teaching approaches
- Assist with sensory learning, life skills development and extracurricular activities
- Monitor, record and track pupil progress
- Support pupils during breaktimes, lunch periods and outdoor learning activities
- Assist with personal care when required
- Implement positive behaviour support strategies and individual behaviour plans
- Help create engaging classroom resources and learning materials
- Work closely with teachers, therapists and wider school staff
- Participate in training, team meetings and ongoing professional development
