The Role
As a Deputy Manager, you will work alongside the Registered Manager to lead our dedicated residential care teams. You will oversee day-to-day operations, ensure exceptional standards of care, mentor staff, and support young people in their growth, safety, and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the operational management and daily running of residential services.
- Lead, mentor, and supervise staff to promote a positive, young person-centered environment using therapeutic frameworks such as PACE.
- Oversee and quality-check care plans, risk assessments, and progress reviews.
- Ensure full compliance with SSSC Codes of Practice, Care Inspectorate standards, and organisational policies.
- Participate in on-call rotations and manage shift rotas to maintain optimal staffing levels.
- Support staff recruitment, induction, monthly supervision, and ongoing professional development.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Preferred: SVQ Level 4 & HNC in Social Services/Social Care (or equivalent).
- Considered: Candidates holding an SVQ Level 3 who are committed to working toward their Level 4 qualification.
- Registered (or eligible for registration) with the SSSC.
- Proven supervisory or leadership experience within a residential childcare setting.
- Strong knowledge of child protection, safeguarding, and care regulations.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and leadership capabilities.
