Your Role and Responsibilities
As a key leader in the service, you will partner closely with the Home Manager to champion therapeutic care standards and oversee daily operations. Your focus will span:
Inspirational Leadership: Provide clear guidance, supervision, and mentorship to the care team, assisting unqualified staff to achieve their professional qualifications.
Therapeutic Quality Assurance: Oversee the development, implementation, and review of comprehensive, trauma-informed care plans and therapeutic strategies.
Operational Excellence: Manage staff rotas, delegate tasks efficiently, and handle delegated budgets to keep the service running smoothly and safely.
Compliance and Liaison: Ensure all records, risk assessments, and reports meet or exceed regulatory requirements, acting as a primary liaison with external bodies and families.
A Safe, Homely Environment: Foster a nurturing, warm, and secure setting where young people feel valued, respected, and prepared for their journey into adulthood.
What We Need From You
To thrive in this rewarding and responsible position, you will bring:
Essential Qualifications: An HNC and SVQ Level 4 in Social Services (Children and Young People), or an equivalent recognized qualification.
Sector Expertise: A proven, strong background in a residential childcare setting, with deep insight into trauma-informed practices and PACE principles.
Mobility: A full UK driving license is essential for this role.
Leadership Capability: Experience in supervising staff, managing rotas, and coordinating multi-agency approaches.
Resilience and Empathy: A proactive, "can-do" attitude with the communication skills needed to support a team during challenging moments.
