An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Warranted EDT AMHP to join the service in Bury. This position is ideal for a practitioner who thrives in fast-paced, high-autonomy environments, managing urgent mental health crises and statutory assessments outside standard core hours.

Core Responsibilities
- Statutory Mental Health Assessments: Lead and undertake statutory Mental Health Act 1983/2007 assessments across the borough of Bury during out-of-hours periods.
- Emergency Crisis Response: Triage incoming mental health emergencies, assessing risk rapidly and determining appropriate statutory or community pathways.
- Multi-Agency Liaison: Collaborate seamlessly with NHS crisis teams, inpatient units, police, ambulance services, and medical practitioners to coordinate safe interventions.
- Legal Compliance: Maintain strict compliance with the Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act, and relevant legal frameworks while managing urgent statutory duties.
Mandatory Candidate Criteria
- Professional Qualifications: Fully qualified Social Worker (or equivalent eligible profession) with an active Social Work England registration.
- AMHP Status: Must hold a formal AMHP qualification alongside a current, valid AMHP Warrant.
- Experience: Proven experience carrying out statutory MHA assessments, preferably within an Emergency Duty Team or acute crisis setting.
