Primary Responsibilities
- Statutory Court Reporting: Produce analytical, high-quality reports (including Section 7 assessments) across both Public and Private Law care proceedings.
- Child Advocacy: Conduct direct, meaningful work with children to ascertain their wishes and feelings, translating their voice clearly into family court proceedings.
- Judicial Consultation: Attend family court hearings to provide expert advice and clear, evidence-based recommendations to magistrates and judges.
- Risk & Safeguarding: Identify potential risks, evaluate family dynamics, and formulate safe, sustainable plans in the best interests of vulnerable children.
Candidate Criteria
- Professional Status: Qualified Social Worker with an active Social Work England registration.
- Statutory Background: Substantive post-qualifying experience (typically 3+ years) within statutory children's services (e.g., Child Protection, Court/LAC teams, or CAFCASS).
- Court Proficiency: Proven expertise in writing court-ready reports and giving evidence within private and public family law settings.
