We are looking for a compassionate, motivated HLTA and PBS Practitioner to join our supportive pastoral team in Guildford. In this role, you will shape student development and help every learner thrive in an inclusive, nurturing environment.
Working Hours
- Mon-Wed: 8:15 AM - 4:45 PM
- Thu: 8:15 AM - 5:00 PM
- Fri: 8:15 AM - 4:00 PM
Key Responsibilities
- Classroom & Teaching Support: Assist the Class Teacher with daily classroom management and step in to lead lessons in their absence.
- Behaviour Support Frameworks: Implement Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) strategies to minimise behaviours of concern and elevate student quality of life.
- Assessments & Planning: Conduct behavioural observations and functional assessments to craft and guide individual support plans.
- Targeted Learning: Deliver tailored educational activities that meet individual EHCP guidelines.
- Safeguarding & Welfare: Champion student safety and welfare in strict accordance with school policies.
- Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Partner with colleagues, families, and external professionals to deliver holistic student care.
Requirements & Essentials
- Qualifications: HLTA Diploma (or Level 4 equivalent) and a Level 5 PBS Practitioner qualification (or equivalent relevant experience).
- Core Academics: GCSE (or equivalent) Grade C/4 or above in English and Maths.
- Experience: Proven track record supporting students with SEN, SLD/PMLD, ADHD, and ASD.
- Knowledge: Deep understanding of safeguarding principles and child protection procedures.
- Skills: Outstanding interpersonal skills with a solution-focused approach to challenging behaviours.
- Logistics & Vetting: Reliable personal or public transport access; full Enhanced DBS check required.
- Right to Work: Permanent right to work in the UK required. Please note: We operate a strict no-sponsorship policy.
