Job Title: Inclusive Sports Coach / SEN PE Specialist

Salary/Rate: £150 - £175 per day (dependent on experience)
About the Role:
Randstad Education is seeking an experienced and passionate Inclusive Sports Coach / SEN PE Specialist to join an outstanding specialist SEN school and college in the Chelmsford area. This full-time position starts ASAP, with the strong potential to transition into a permanent contract for the right candidate.
In this role, you will lead and adapt physical education, sports, and active sessions for children and young people who have complex and additional needs, including physical disabilities, severe learning difficulties (SLD), and Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC). You will play a key role in boosting pupils' physical development, coordination, confidence, and teamwork in an inclusive, safe environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver adapted physical education, sports, and multi-skills sessions tailored to pupils with complex and additional needs.
- Differentiate coaching techniques to ensure all pupils, regardless of ability or physical mobility, can participate actively.
- Work alongside classroom LSAs and therapy staff to support engagement, personal development, and positive behaviour management during PE sessions.
- Assess pupil progress and foster a fun, positive, and supportive atmosphere for physical learning.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Sports Coach, PE Teacher, or Activity Leader coaching children or young adults with complex and additional SEN needs.
- Recognised coaching qualifications (NGB Level 2 or above, Sports Science degree, or qualified teacher status).
- Knowledge of adaptive sports, sensory physical play, or modified PE activities.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply for one immediately via Randstad).
- Full right to work in the UK.
