The Role:
We are currently recruiting a dependable general labourer for a contract role on a busy residential new build site in Sunderland.
Working alongside the Site Manager and trade teams, you will play a key role in keeping active plots moving, supporting sub-contractors, and ensuring site safety and cleanliness standards are met daily.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting sub-contractors and site trades with moving and distributing materials across live plots.
- Sweeping out plots, clearing construction waste, and loading skips.
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised site environment in line with health and safety procedures.
- Assisting site management with unloading and managing incoming deliveries.
- Carrying out general physical labour and manual handling duties as directed by the Site Manager.
The Requirements:
- Valid CSCS card (Essential).
- Previous experience working as a labourer on a construction site (New build housing experience preferred).
- Full PPE (Hard hat, high-vis jacket/vest, steel toe cap boots).
- Strong work ethic, excellent punctuality, and a proactive attitude.
- Solid awareness of site health and safety around live plots and site machinery.
- Based in or easily commutable to Sunderland (Tyne & Wear area).
