This specialist Autism Accredited school supports children and young people aged 7-19 with high-functioning autism and associated learning needs. Every pupil has an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), and the school provides a structured, nurturing and purpose-built learning environment where pupils can thrive academically, socially and emotionally.
Role: SEN Teaching Assistant
Salary:£93-£100 per day for the first 12 weeks and £22,000 - £23,500 per annum (permanent)
Location: Specialist Autism School
Hours: Monday-Friday, 08:15am-4:30pm
Contract: 12-week Temp-to-Perm Opportunity
SEN Teaching Assistant Responsibilities
As a SEN Teaching Assistant / Autism Teaching Assistant, you will:
... - Provide 1:1 SEN support and small group intervention sessions
- Support pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and associated needs
- Work closely with teachers, therapists and senior leaders
- Help students develop communication, social interaction and life skills
- Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
- Assist with classroom activities and differentiated learning programmes
- Encourage independence, confidence and engagement in learning
- Promote safeguarding, wellbeing and positive outcomes for all learners
