Have you ever looked at a job and wondered, "Does what I do actually matter?" If you are a naturally patient, empathetic person who loves seeing others thrive, your skills are highly transferable. We are looking for individuals with a positive, can-do attitude to join our team as Learning Support Workers. In this role, you won't just be doing a job-you will be directly empowering autistic adults to gain independence, learn new skills, and live life to the absolute fullest.
Are You Who We Are Looking For?
You don't need a lifetime of formal classroom experience to excel here. We value your personal qualities, your heart, and your mindset just as much as your background. This role is perfect for you if:
You are a people person: You excel at building warm, trusting relationships and working as part of a supportive team.
You have relevant experience: This could be professional, voluntary, or personal/lived experience caring for or working with adults or young people with disabilities.
You are resilient and calm: You can keep a cool head in high-pressure situations and feel comfortable supporting adults who may exhibit challenging behaviour.
You have a passion for learning: You have a genuine interest in special educational needs and autism, and you are always looking to develop your own professional skills.
You are comfortable with personal care: You are happy to support others with dignity-focused personal and intimate care (such as dressing, washing, and toileting) when required.
You have the basics covered: You possess sound literacy and numeracy skills (GCSE Maths & English Grade C/4 or above is desirable) and have a strong respect for confidentiality.
What a Typical Day Looks Like:
No two days are ever the same. You will be working 1:1 or in small groups with our learners, splitting your time between our adult centre and out in the vibrant local community. Your day will involve:
Bringing learning to life: Planning and delivering creative lessons and activities that help learners achieve their personal goals.
Community adventures: Supporting learners to access social, leisure, and even local employment opportunities.
Championing independence: Helping learners make their own choices, promoting individual empowerment, and supporting their daily personal care needs.
Tracking achievements: Keeping accurate records and data of the incredible progress your learners are making.
Why Join Us?
We are a values-driven team that believes heavily in Caring, Person-Centred support, Continuous Learning, Integrity, and Teamwork. We will fully train you, support your professional self-development, and even train you to safely administer medication.
Please note: Because we are fiercely committed to safeguarding and protecting vulnerable adults, this post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
Ready to Make a Real Impact?
If you have the patience, the passion, and the drive to help others grow, we want to hear from you today.
