We are seeking a proactive and dedicated Qualified PE Teacher (QTS) to join our partner secondary schools in Ipswich. This role is ideal for a practitioner who thrives in both the sports hall and on the field, delivering high-quality practical sessions and theoretical PE at KS3 and KS4. You will be joining a school community that values the role of physical education in building character, resilience, and lifelong healthy habits.
Your Responsibilities
- Practical Excellence: Plan and deliver high-energy practical lessons across a variety of sports, including team games, athletics, gymnastics, and individual disciplines.
- Academic Theory: Lead GCSE PE or BTEC Sport theory sessions, ensuring students are well-prepared for assessments and external examinations.
- Inclusive Engagement: Adapt your coaching style to engage all ability levels, fostering a "sport for all" ethos while stretching elite student-athletes.
- Safe Practice Mastery: Maintain rigorous health and safety standards in all environments, from the fitness suite to the outdoor pitches and changing rooms.
- Extracurricular Leadership: Support the school's competitive edge by organising after-school fixtures, inter-house competitions, and sports clubs.
- Departmental Support: Work collaboratively with the faculty to track student progress and contribute to the wider school culture through active participation in school life.
What You'll Bring to the Team
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) / QTLS: Mandatory. A degree in Physical Education or a related sports science discipline.
- Subject Passion: A genuine love for sport and the ability to motivate students of all backgrounds to lead active, healthy lifestyles.
- Classroom (and Field) Command: Exceptional management skills to keep practical sessions structured, safe, and highly productive.
- Resilience: The ability to walk into a secondary setting with a "can-do" attitude and build immediate rapport with staff and students.
