The Opportunity
Are you a compassionate, energetic, and proactive individual looking to make a real difference in children's lives? We are seeking a Primary Teaching Assistant to join our "Outstanding" rated academy in South Kenton.
In this role, you won't just be an "extra pair of hands"-you will be a vital part of our instructional team. Whether you are supporting a child with additional needs, leading a small phonics group, or helping a teacher manage a busy classroom, you will be an ambassador for our "can-do" culture. We believe in empowering our "lively little learners" to achieve more than they ever imagined, and our Teaching Assistants are at the heart of that mission.
Why Join Us?
Joining our academy means joining one of the most successful educational networks in the UK. We invest in our support staff just as much as our teachers.
Competitive Salary: Pro-rata salary based on Outer London scales, plus performance-related bonuses.
Pathways to Teaching: Many of our TAs go on to train as teachers through our internal School Direct programmes.
Professional Development: Access to specialized training in SEND, Literacy, and Numeracy interventions through our Leadership Institute.
Wellbeing Support: Comprehensive healthcare cash plan (covering dental, optical, and physio), 24/7 employee assistance, and a generous local government pension scheme.
Community Environment: Work in a diverse, multi-cultural, and multi-faith school where every staff member is a valued member of the family.
What We Are Looking For
We welcome applications from graduates, experienced TAs, or those looking to start a career in education who possess:
Strong Core Skills: Grade C/4 or above in GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent).
Passion for Learning: A genuine desire to support children's academic and personal growth.
Resilience: The ability to stay calm under pressure and maintain high expectations for student behavior.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written skills to interact with pupils, teachers, and parents.
Adaptability: A flexible approach-no two days in a primary school are the same!
Key Responsibilities
Instructional Support: Deliver small-group interventions in reading, writing, and maths to help close attainment gaps.
Inclusion: Provide 1:1 support for students with Special Educational Needs (SEND), ensuring they can access the curriculum.
Classroom Management: Assist the Class Teacher in preparing resources and maintaining an inspiring, organized learning environment.
Supervision: Ensure student safety and promote positive play during break times and lunch hours.
Safeguarding: Actively promote the welfare and protection of all children within the academy.
