City of Doncaster Council is seeking a skilled practitioner to join their frontline Help & Protection Team. This role is designed for a social worker who wants to work holistically with children and families, delivering high-quality safeguarding interventions, robust assessments, and positive family change.

- Balanced Caseload: Manage a varied statutory mix of Child in Need (CIN) and Child Protection (CP) cases, with opportunities to drive long-term family support.
Core Responsibilities
- Statutory Assessments & Planning: Complete high-quality single assessments, child protection plans, and statutory visits that reflect the true voice of the child.
- Multidisciplinary Triage: Work alongside health partners, police, schools, and local support hubs to coordinate wrap-around family interventions.
- Child Protection Conferences: Prepare detailed reports for and lead contributions in Core Groups and Child Protection Conferences.
- Crisis Prevention: Intervene early to prevent crisis escalation, ensuring children remain within their family networks wherever safely possible.
Mandatory Candidate Requirements
- Professional Status: Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
- Statutory Experience: Demonstrable post-qualifying experience within statutory Children's Services (specifically Child Protection, Assessment, or Safeguarding teams).
- Skills: Full UK driving licence with access to a vehicle for community visits.
