About the Role
An established principal contractor is expanding its commercial team and seeking one Quantity Surveyor (QS) and two Senior Quantity Surveyors (SQS) for long-term positions based out of Waterloo. We are open to candidates seeking either direct Permanent employment or a Temp-to-Perm arrangement.
You will take full commercial ownership of allocated schemes to protect profit margins, manage project cash flow, and control costs throughout the project lifecycle. Experience in Facade Remediation, Fire Remediation, or both is strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Commercial & Financial Control: Produce, maintain, and issue CVRs and Cost to Complete (CTC) forecasts, track gross margins, and manage project cash flow.
- Procurement: Create procurement schedules, appoint subcontractors, negotiate variations, and conduct pre-start meetings.
- Valuations & Cash Flow: Value work on site, raise client invoices on time, and process subcontractor valuations efficiently.
- Risk & Reporting: Assess contractual and commercial risks, produce monthly updates, and ensure compliance with SHE and health & safety standards.
- Team Leadership (SQS): Mentor and support the development of Trainee Quantity Surveyors.
Key Requirements
- Experience: Prior experience in Facade Remediation and/or Fire Remediation projects is strongly preferred.
- Driving License: Valid UK Driving License is required due to site visits.
- Qualifications: BSc or HND in Quantity Surveying or a commercially related subject. CIOB or RICS membership is desirable.
- Certifications: Valid CSCS card and Asbestos Awareness certification.
- Commercial Skills: Solid understanding of standard forms of contract, CVR management, measurement standards, and MS Office.
