The Role: Conceptual mechanical design using 3D modelling package (Solidworks).Design and prototyping intricate mechanical products from concept to final design.Exercise your creativity and determination when developing prototypes, placing them through rigorous testing.Be hands-on, bolt and put things together, and consult machinists in order to recognise problems at an early stage. Experience: A degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar.Experience of design for manufacture (DFM). Understanding of machining processes. Understanding of forces, loads and material properties.Experience performing FEA using structural analysis tools.Fast turnaround from concept to prototypes.
