        JOB PURPOSE: The position of Cost Reduction Project Leader will be the key communicator for multiple projects including Product and Process Development. This includes the interface with Suppliers, Purchasing, Engineering and any other relevant areas in the business and ensure early supplier collaboration on design, manufacturability, assembly, cost and quality. JOB DUTIES: The position will lead cross functional project teams in trade off discussions to balance performance, quality, velocity, and cost. The cross-functional teams could include (employees from quality, service, design, mfg, etc). The incumbent will be expected to be competent in managing multiple simple to moderate CRIPTIC component projects as well as simple Strategic Cost Management projects. The objective of this position is to lead the teams through the identificationEvaluation and execution of cost reduction opportunities to meet Business Unit cost objectives Leading discussions and projects will be moderate in nature due to the multiple "trade offs" (negotiations / compromises) each area will need to make to achieve the quality and cost goals. Completed cost models and expert guidance will be used to identify cost reduction opportunities for subsequent delivery through the Strategic Cost Management, Purchase or NPI teams in the form of negotiation, resource or design change. The position requires a proactive approach with good analytical skills and the ability to influence others to resolve conflict that may arise between processes, objectives, or solutions.
