Machining TechnicianAn exciting opportunity is available at a global engine development company as a machining technician. Dedicated to providing leadership in engine test and development solutions, the company requires the successful candidate to support the current programs, in addition to contributing toward continued growth and market leadership in compact Diesel engines.Responsibilities: Carry out a variety of machining / fabrication tasks whilst working to very tight deadlines.Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and following engineers' instructions using a variety of machinery (CNC and conventional) to produce the parts.Adhere to company processes including Safety, Standard Work and Quality.Requirements:Previous experience operating conventional Lathes, Milling machines, Grinding and Boring machines.CNC programming / operating knowledge.Previous experience using Mazatrol, and Feature Cam.Ability to use measuring equipment, for example vernier callipers depth and thread gauges.Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.Good PC skills, including Microsoft Office, emails etcSelf-motivated with good team working skills.Initiative, problem solving and positive attitude to change.Additional preferences:Apprenticeship / City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 in Machining or equivalent qualifications.Previous experience at work coordinating or Leadership Experience.
