Please let us know if this will present any challenges when you email your application.The RoleThe demand for the service is high and we are keen to recruit an enthusiastic, innovative and committed speech and language therapist to join the SLT team working throughout Northern Ireland.As part of the SLT stroke pathway this role involves working closely with NHS SLTs in delivering structured SLT group programmes across Northern Ireland to stroke survivors living with a communication disability post stroke and their families. You will be responsible for training SLT volunteers to support you within the group environment. Alongside providing structured SLT programmes there is also the opportunity to get involved with additional projects being devised and delivered within the charity such as the Aphasia Online Peer Support group and working.Key responsibilities will include:Delivering a structured Speech and Language programme to stroke survivors living with aphasia/a communication disability as the result of stroke.Training and liaising with colleagues in the statutory sector.Act as an ambassador for the association with the aim of creating awareness of stroke and aphasia / communication disabilities post stroke, and encourage referrals to our services.Extensive travel across a large geographical locality to visit people at home and in community settings.About YouWe are looking for a Speech and Language Therapist who is creative, innovative and flexible when working within the charity.
