    Software Asset Management Specialist Salary: £30,277 to £37,847 + Pension + 25 days holiday Location: Working from home currently & thereafter Bradford with flexible/remote working arrangements Purpose of the role:The Software Asset Specialist is a key role in driving our Software Asset Management (SAM) programme forward. They are responsible for the development and upkeep of our Software tool sets, tracking and management of our Software Assets, setting policy and governance and maturing our SAM capability. They are also be responsible for ensuring we run an effective and cost-efficient harvesting and reuse programme, making sure our software assets are used regularly or pulled back for use elsewhere. This role is part of a team of professionals and specialists in the wider IT Asset Management function, which is part of Tec Service & Operations. What will the role involve:* Maintain the software intelligence platform to ensure compliance with vendor contracts. * Develop and implement procedures for tracking assets to oversee performance and compliance throughout their life cycles. * Create licence positions for key software vendors and analyse accordingly. * Identify optimisation opportunities day to day and ahead of renewals. * Conduct training as needed to engage support teams and specialists in accurate data collection and maintenance of asset records, contracts, and entitlement. * Create, maintain, and enforce asset management policies and standards. * Create and maintain SAM procedures, including detailed descriptions of system functions, tasks, responsibilities, etc. * Co-ordinate software asset decommission and disposal. * Review purchase requisitions for compliance with IT standards for software and vendor selection. * Generate software compliance reports as needed by stakeholders and leadership teams. * Produce monthly, quarterly, yearly asset reports as and when required. * Work with Solution Architects to develop and maintain software asset roadmaps. * Provide asset information to inform future replacement projects. * Work alongside replacement schemes to ensure effective asset lifecycle management is achieved. * Assist with operational asset budgets and future asset spend planning. * Maintenance of service catalogues, customer portals and pricing/recharge. * Work with the ITAM Team Leader to execute the IT Asset Management programme of work. Load/validation of software licensing/purchasing and license entitlement data into the organisation's software asset management system/process (currently Snow). * Create effective dashboards to easily communicate key information and progress. * Able to contribute to the growth and development of ITAM capability. What skills are we looking for:* Demonstrable experience in a similar SAM role. * Substantial experience of day to day working within Snow. * Substantial experience of at least two 'tier 1' software vendors complex licence models. * Quantifiable examples of cost savings, compliance achievements and audit defence. * Analytical and problem-solving abilities. * Ability to prioritise and execute tasks in a dynamic, changing environment and make sound decisions in emergency situations. * Ability to present ideas in both technical and user-friendly language. * Strong interpersonal skills and able to facilitate issues/conflicts to get to a resolution quickly and effectively.
