Strategic alliances are a key part of continuing to progress the way the firm meets the ever-evolving needs of clients and markets. BCG is seeking an experienced candidate with relevant alliance experience to help operate and optimize BCG’s strategic alliances engagements and opportunities.The Legal Counsel – Strategic Partnerships position requires a skilled lawyer, able to independently address the full range of global legal issues relating to alliances, partnerships, and generally non-client/non-revenue generating contracting. A particular expertise in commercial contracting is valued. The geographic focus is global. Among other things, you will:• Be a fully integrated member of BCG’s Global Legal Team, with a primary focus on negotiating, drafting, and reviewing strategic partnership agreements, subcontractor agreements, teaming agreements, sponsorship agreements, IP licensing, and publication agreements with a focus on intellectual property, competition and conflicts of interest issues;• Support BCG’s inorganic growth especially social impact and nonprofit initiatives;• Advise and guide the business on strategic partnerships, the risks and issues of various partnership structures and alternative approaches;• Be experienced in quickly and independently reviewing legal documents and issue-spotting;• Implement and help develop and champion BCG strategic partnership and other policies and processes;• Team with other members of BCG’s legal team to provide thought leadership and advice on matters relating to alliances and partnerships;• Work seamlessly with other BCG functions to provide practical, actionable advice and resolve legal issues;• Contribute to developing and maintaining Legal Team intellectual property, including template forms and other materials;• Perform other duties as assigned or required.YOU'RE GOOD ATAn individual successful in this position will excel in:• Superior analytical skills and creative problem-solving ability, with an appreciation for striking a practical balance between business and legal objectives• Talent for absorbing new skill sets and areas of expertise quickly and comfortably and the flexibility to deal with a diverse international set of clients and advisors • The ability to quickly comprehend complex sets of international laws and regulations and interpret those laws within the context of BCG’s global policies• A positive, dynamic, client-focused approach to legal practice• Ability to perform successfully and produce results in a fast-paced, intellectually intense, client-oriented environment• Being a pragmatic, high-energy professional, with personal and professional self-confidence• Being proactive, hardworking, and a team player who leads by being persuasive and credible• Having the interpersonal skills necessary to build relationships throughout a loosely structured organizationYOU BRING (EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS)• Graduate degree ( ) in Law from an accredited law school and admitted to practice• 5+ years of commercial contracting, partnership, alliance agreement and/or corporate experience with international exposure• 2+ years with a reputable law firm or in a sophisticated in-house legal department; prior in-house experience preferred• Excellent written and oral communication skills• English fluencyYOU'LL WORK WITHA variety of cohorts and functions across the company, including senior consulting and business services team leadership, and members of the BCG Corporate Development and Global Alliance teams.
