The ReFood AD plants operate as integrated recycling units, processing a variety of food wastes to produce renewable energy, heat and ReGrow, a nutrient-rich fertiliser for local farms. The plants provide an environmentally sustainable solution for all waste producers looking for a safe method of diverting food waste from landfill.The PositionApplications are invited for a suitably qualified Maintenance Fitter to work within ReFood’s third state of the art Anaerobic Digestion and CAT 3 transfer station. This is a full-time permanent position working 12 hours shifts on a 4 on 4 off basis (days and nights).As a Maintenance Fitter your duties and responsibilities will vary based on the Company’s requirements but will include:Risk assessing all jobs before work begins.Complete all logs and job sheets as required.All work to be done to a high standard, in a safe and competent way to ensure the safety of all personnel and leaving the work area clean and tidy on completion of work.Be expected to adhere to all Site and Saria Group Health and Safety Regulations and required to attend Health and Safety, Fire and Welfare Training both on and off site.To install and maintain equipment ensuring minimum interruptions to production.To assist in any other duties and ad hoc projects as and when required.Undertaking any other duties reasonably requested by the ReFood Management Team.The PersonHold a recognised apprenticeship.You should have CGLI or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering.You must have engineering experience (this would be advantageous if this was in the AD industry). An experienced Mobile Welder / Fabricator with experience in recycling or heavy industrial machinery is needed for an established mobile welding company based in Essex. They also have a second northern base in Manchester offering a wide range of services from fabrication to plant repairs and installations.Your role will be to undertake planned, reactive maintenance and emergency running repairs to fixed and mobile plants on various different recycling and material processing sites, Workshop based fabrication, and steel erection.Required Skills:• Have a good technical knowledge of heavy plant and machinery• Workshop fabrication experience using various different equipment• Experienced MMA & MAG welding in all positions• Hardfacing and Shredder repairs would be beneficial• Experienced using gas cutting and gouging equipment• Have good communication, organisation, and team working skills• Be able to work unsupervised and on occasions alone• Have a good understanding of health and safety• Be able to work flexibly and to deadlines• Have a full UK Driving License• Be looking to develop a long term career with the companyBenefits:• 50 hours per week contract, including 1 hour paid break a day• Plenty of overtime on offer• 28 days holiday entitlement (inc bank holidays)• Training & development opportunities• Company Social EventsSounds interesting?
