      Job Role: Executive Assistant Salary: Upto £22ph umbrella Location: East London Hours: 36 hours Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm Temporary role: 6months ongoingAn exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Executive Assistant role based in a Local Authority in East London. The main responsibilities of this Executive Assistant role is:Manage the Mayor's diary including arranging meetings, preparing and dispatching agendas, minutes and other documents as necessary.Attending meetings and taking accurate, well written minutes and ensuring that actions are followed up as necessary.Booking rooms, organising tele/video conferences and ordering refreshments as required.To act on the authority of the Mayor in response to enquiries from senior managers, chief officers and Members, ensuring that issues are resolved satisfactorily and within a reasonable timeframe.Suggesting new ways of doing things and taking a proactive approach to understanding, and getting involved with, the wider political and strategic objectives of the Mayor and Cabinet.Dealing professionally with enquiries from Council staff, elected politicians, members of the public and external organisations. Interpret requests for information and solve routine problems. This will include email, telephone and face to face contact.Collaboratively managing correspondence on behalf of the Mayor together with the Casework team and Deputy Head of Office - receiving, recording and flagging up any urgent mattersSkillsAbility to plan and manage the diary of the Mayor and Cabinet Members, including the daily and future scheduling of meetings and work projects.Ability to communicate effectively at all levels both orally and in writing in order to promote the Mayor and Cabinet in a positive and professional manner.An advanced level of computer literacy to produce documents, maintain records and manage an electronic diary.Ability to work flexibly as part of a team and adapt to changing priorities.Clients are looking to interview and shortlist shortly, so please submit your CV promptly for consideration.
