Primarily they will be a point of contact for Drivers at Manchester, and will make operational decisions based on Telemetry information and resources available.They will support the objectives and aims of the central planning function and ensure that the schedules are created and the efficiencies generated are "managed" on site. They will report directly to the Logistics Manager. Once fully trained and competent they will offer sickness and holiday cover for the traffic scheduler, additional support will be required on the weighbridge function. Should have minimum 5 years office experience in a transport or logistics environment who can demonstrate extensive experience in load scheduling and the supervision of drivers, also with current operating experience of Microsoft Office based PC systems as a minimum. Should be skilled in the areas of data collection and KPI reporting and must have experience of controlling information gathering from drivers at several locations, with sound knowledge of the EU drivers Working Time Directive (WTD). The individual will need to be a good team player, flexible, and with the ability to use Spreadsheets and calculations in Excel. A clear thinker, systematic and routine on occasion, he/she will also need to use their own initiative, organisational skills will be exceptional, as will attention to detail, a team player often, but with the ability to plan his/her weekly tasks in a controlled and precise way. Computer literate (specifically Microsoft Office).Full understanding of the Working Time DirectiveClean full driving licenseCertificate of Professional Competence - National Road Transport Operations (national CPC).Good Knowledge of routing & scheduling at all levelsRelevant experience of food product distribution, especially bulk powder handling.
