If so, Randstad Education wants to hear from you. We are currently recruiting a dedicated, resilient, and proactive SEN HLTA for a fantastic specialist school in the South Leeds area.
Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:45 - 15:15 (Term-time only)
Start Date: ASAP on a long-term basis (with potential to go permanent)
About the School
They are a highly regarded Specialist Inclusive Learning Centre (SILC) dedicated to providing a supportive, stimulating, and safe environment for pupils with wide-ranging Special Educational Needs (SEN). They cater to a diverse community of learners and focus heavily on individual progress, independence, and well-being. The team there is collaborative, welcoming, and entirely committed to helping every student reach their full potential.
Skills Required
Proven experience confidently leading classes and delivering pre-planned lessons.
You must hold a relevant HLTA qualification, have extensive experience working at an HLTA level, or hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
The ability to think on your feet and manage challenging behaviours with a calm, professional approach.
Excellent skills to effectively collaborate with teaching assistants, permanent staff, and external therapists.
Job Responsibilities
Leading classroom delivery, managing the learning environment, and keeping pupils engaged.
Supporting pupils with diverse SEN requirements on both a 1:1 and small-group basis.
Working closely with the class teacher to adapt resources and ensure all learning pathways are accessible.
Effectively deploying classroom teaching assistants to maintain a safe and highly supportive environment.
Essential Requirements
Full eligibility to work in the UK (visa sponsorship is not available).
An enhanced DBS on the update service, or a willingness to undergo a new check via Randstad.
Experience working within a UK special educational needs setting or school environment.
