This is a brand new school, who will be opening its doors in late 2026 (tbc) and will be a nurturing, inclusive and ambitious school for children and young people aged 5-19 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. With a capacity of 72 students, our vision is to create a safe, enriching and aspirational environment where every learner can thrive.
We're looking for enthusiastic and skilled general classroom teachers (in primary and/or secondary) who are deeply passionate about working with children. The role:
As a Teacher, you'll deliver high-quality teaching and learning for our pupils, ensuring every child has the opportunity to succeed. You'll plan and deliver engaging lessons, set personalised targets, and work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team to create a positive and supportive learning environment.
Your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
- Planning and delivering differentiated lessons tailored to individual needs.
- Monitoring progress and reporting to parents, carers, and senior staff.
- Leading on a subject or curriculum area and supporting colleagues.
- Managing and supervising support staff within your classroom.
- Maintaining compliance with safeguarding, equality, and health & safety policies.
Skills & Qualifications
What We're Looking For:
Essential:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience of teaching a thematic curriculum within primary or secondary education
- Experience in special school settings, particularly with pupils who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
- Proven ability to deliver a differentiated curriculum to meet diverse learning needs
- Strong knowledge of the national curriculum
- Working understanding of ASC and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, including complex presentations
Desirable:
- Additional qualifications in SEND
- Experience in curriculum development for learners with SEND
- Nurturing and empathetic relationship building skills
