Key Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver 1:1 and small-group support for primary pupils with additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and SEMH.
- Assist class teachers in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and sensory strategies.
- Adapt learning activities to ensure lessons are accessible, stimulating, and achievable.
- Encourage emotional regulation, independence, and social confidence through consistent positive reinforcement.
- Assist with supervising pupils during lesson transitions, lunch breaks, and structured play sessions.
Requirements for the Role
- Practical experience supporting children with special educational needs in school, care, or youth settings.
- A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach tailored to varied learning requirements.
- A good standard of literacy and numeracy (GCSE English and Mathematics at Grade C/4 or above).
- An Enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service (or willingness to process one with us).
- Strong team-working capabilities and clear communication skills.
