£20,000 - £23,400 depending on experience.

A specialist SEN school located local to you is looking for enthusiastic individual to join their team of passionate educators. If you want to work alongside a supportive team who promote the growth and development of students and staff alike, this could be the perfect opportunity for you!
This specialist setting supports 100+ pupils with complex educational or medical needs. The setting supports learners between the ages of 5-16 years (primary and secondary ages). This award winning school and residential setting is seeking a teaching assistant to join the team. As a teaching assistant you would support a small class of 10 pupils (mixed ages as the school classes are based on the child's ability not age). You would work alongside a long standing teacher and a passionate teaching assistant who will happily show you the ropes!

Main duties:
- Promoting pupils' cognitive, social, emotional, behavioural, physical development and spiritual well-being.
- Responding to the varying and changing needs of the school and adapting to any task presented to achieve the smooth running of the school.
- Promoting and encouraging independence and personal development.
- Supporting teachers in managing class and individual students' behaviour.
- Supporting the Class Teacher in the day to day running of the class and lessons.
- Working with students to assist in their learning and development.
The right candidate has:
- Experience working with students in a SEN environment (desirable)
- Level 2 (GCSE) in Maths and English.
- Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification (desirable but not essential)
- The ability to motivate children in an educational setting.
- An energetic and enthusiastic attitude.
Working hours/schedule:
- Monday- Friday (Term time only)
- Hours- 9am-4pm
- Full time role (40 hours a week)
- Permanent role
