(Actual Salary: £24,139 - £25,819 per annum, dependant on qualifications and based on 40 hours per week)
We are recruiting on behalf of a dedicated specialist primary school that supports pupils aged 6-11 on the autism spectrum. The school provides a safe, nurturing environment for each child to flourish and your role will be to help facilitate that growth.
You will join a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team focused on delivering a broad, creative curriculum and supporting a teacher in the delivery of lessons for individual pupils. This role is ideal for a passionate educator who wants to make a tangible difference in the lives of neurodivergent children and their families, within an organisation that heavily invests in staff wellbeing and professional development.
We operate a strict no-sponsorship policy; all applicants must have the permanent right to work in the UK.
Working Hours: Mon/Wed/Thu 8:15AM - 4:45PM, Tue 8:15AM - 5PM, Friday 8:15AM - 4PM.
Key Duties
- Establish warm, caring, and supportive relationships with pupils to ensure they feel safe, secure, and ready to learn.
- Encourage personal development and independence in daily tasks and social interactions.
- Assist the Class Teacher with the day-to-day running of the classroom and adapt to the evolving needs of the school.
- Support the cognitive, social, emotional, behavioural, and physical development of each pupil.
- Adapt to various tasks to ensure smooth school operations. Full training will be provided for occasions where physical intervention may be required.
Must Haves
- Minimum GCSE Grade 4 (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
- A Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable but not essential.
- Prior experience working within a special educational needs (SEN) or special school environment.
- Able to provide your own vehicle preferred due to the site's semi-rural location.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding principles and child protection procedures.
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
- The candidate will be required to undergo a full enhanced DBS check.
