We are recruiting for dedicated Specialist One-to-One Study Skills Support Workers to deliver vital academic support.
- Exceptional Hourly Rate: Earn £28 per hour, plus an additional £3.38 per hour in accrued holiday pay.
- Total Flexibility: Select your own working hours and schedule.
- Reliable PAYE Contract: You will be engaged on a Pay As You Earn (PAYE) contract with weekly payment for all approved time sheets.
Your Impact: Driving Student Independence
As a Specialist Support Worker, you will provide tailored learning support and academic guidance, including creating an individual learning plan to encourage students to become independent learners.
You will support students to:
- Develop independence and build on their learning strengths.
- Create essential strategies for organisation and time management.
- Formulate action plans to successfully stay on track with their studies.
- Build on crucial research skills, including widening knowledge by using a variety of sources, and correctly using references.
- Enhance comprehension skills within reading and writing.
Mandatory Specialist Qualification Requirements (DSA-Funded)
This is a specialist role, funded by the Disabled Students Allowance (DSA). Candidates must strictly adhere to the qualification framework set out by the Department for Education (DfE).2
You MUST possess the following three qualifications as a minimum:
- An Undergraduate Degree (Level 6 minimum).
- A recognised Teaching Qualification.
- Extensive Training in Adult Autism.
Accepted extensive training routes include:
- The 6 National Autistic Society Modules (Non-Medical Helper package).
- The Optimum Training Course (Autism and ADHD in Higher Education: Recognising and addressing the barriers through Non-Medical Helper (NMH) Mentoring and Study Skills Strategies).
- Autism training provided by the National Association of Disability Practitioners (NADP).
