About the Role
We are seeking an experienced, decisive, and inspiring Team Manager to lead our Adults Safeguarding Team in Bradford. In this pivotal leadership role, you will oversee a dedicated team of social workers and safeguarding practitioners, ensuring that vulnerable adults at risk of abuse or neglect receive robust, timely, and person-centered protection.
You will be instrumental in driving high standards of practice, promoting a culture of continuous improvement, and ensuring statutory duties under the Care Act 2014 are met with empathy and clinical excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership: Provide robust operational management, direction, and reflective supervision to a team of social workers and support staff.
- Safeguarding Oversight: Oversee, screen, and allocate Section 42 safeguarding enquiries, ensuring investigations are thorough, legally compliant, and outcome-focused.
- Quality Assurance: Monitor team performance, audit case files, and ensure all safeguarding interventions align with local policies and statutory frameworks.
- Chairing Meetings: Chair complex safeguarding conferences, multi-agency risk assessment panels, and strategy meetings.
- Multi-Agency Working: Build and maintain strong collaborative relationships with key partners, including the police, health services, ICBs, and care providers.
- Crisis Management: Provide expert guidance and swift decision-making on high-risk, complex, and escalating cases.
Essential Requirements
- Professional Qualification: A recognized degree or diploma in Social Work.
- Registration: Active registration with Social Work England.
- Experience: Proven experience at a management or advanced practitioner level within an Adults Safeguarding or complex Adult Social Care team.
- Legislative Expertise: Exceptional working knowledge of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act (MCA) 2005, Human Rights Act, and Making Safeguarding Personal (MSP) principles.
- Leadership Skills: Strong ability to motivate, develop, and support a busy team while managing demanding workloads and competing priorities.
