About the Role: Gateshead Council is seeking an experienced and dedicated Team Manager to lead their Disabled Children's Team. This is a fantastic opportunity to manage a passionate, multi-disciplinary team focused on delivering high-quality support and safeguarding to children with disabilities and their families.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide strong leadership, supervision, and guidance to social workers and support staff.
Oversee case allocations, assessments, and care planning, ensuring high standards of practice.
Ensure compliance with statutory legislation and safeguarding procedures.
Manage team budgets and resources effectively.
Collaborate with health, education, and voluntary sector partners to ensure holistic care.
Requirements:
Social Work England registration.
Social Work qualification (Degree/DipSW).
Proven experience as a Team Manager or Senior Practitioner within a Disabled Children's or Children's Social Care team.
Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
