Role: Dual-Impact Team Manager: Practice Development & LADO
Location: Quadrant West, North Tyneside (With flexible/hybrid options)
Pay Rate: £36.61 per hour
Contract: Full-Time
Are you an experienced Social Work leader who is passionate about building up the next generation of practitioners, while simultaneously holding the highest standards for child safety?
Most management roles force you to choose between strategic practice development and high-level safeguarding protection. This unique dual role at North Tyneside Council lets you master both.
Why This Role is Different
You won't just be managing a team; you will be the architect of our workforce's future and the guardian of our borough's safety standards. This role splits into two vital, high-profile portfolios:
1. Lead the Innovation: Practice Development & Workforce Strategy
Drive National Reforms: You will take the lead on a major strategic project: redesigning our current ASYE framework into the brand-new Early Career Development Programme.
Nurture Talent: Manage the entire Social Work Career and Qualification Pathway-overseeing student placements, regional Step Up to Social Work cohorts, and our Social Work Apprenticeship programmes.
Inspire the Culture: Manage two brilliant Advanced Practitioners and champion a culture of continuous learning across the entirety of Safeguarding and Children's Services.
2. Guard the Standards: Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO)
Be the Expert Voice: Serve as the primary point of contact under Working Together guidelines, managing allegations against people who work or volunteer with children.
Ensure Safety: Provide authoritative, vital oversight when concerns arise regarding a professional's suitability to work with vulnerable children.
What We Are Looking For
A qualified, registered Social Work Manager with a strong track record in children's services.
An educator at heart who understands the ASYE framework and has the vision to lead transition reforms.
A decisive professional with the confidence and analytical skill required to manage complex LADO investigations.
Someone who values a strong team presence-while we offer flexible, hybrid options, you'll love being a visible, supportive anchor for the team at Quadrant West.
What We Offer
A highly competitive rate of £36.61 per hour.
A rare opportunity to build a massive, lasting legacy on a regional workforce strategy.
A supportive, collaborative environment right on site at the Quadrant complex.
