Are you an experienced Children's Social Worker looking to make a meaningful difference in therapeutic family support and long-term permanency?
Bolton Council is recruiting an experienced Adoption Support Social Worker to join their dedicated Adoption and Permanency team. Offering a competitive pay rate of £37.00 per hour, this service is open to considering candidates with strong Children's Safeguarding / Statutory Experience who are keen to apply their skills to adoption support practice.
About the Role & Practice Area:
You will work with children, adoptive families, and birth relatives, providing therapeutic, person-centred support interventions and statutory adoption support assessments. This is an excellent opportunity for safeguarding practitioners looking to transition into adoption practice while utilising core skills in risk assessment, care planning, and family support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Adoption Support Assessments: Undertake statutory adoption support assessments under the relevant legal framework and coordinate access to the Adoption Support Fund (ASF).
- Family Interventions: Deliver person-centred, trauma-informed support and interventions to adoptive families and children to promote placement stability.
- Care Planning & Risk: Apply core safeguarding, multi-agency coordination, and risk assessment skills to ensure positive long-term outcomes.
- MDT Collaboration: Work alongside health, education, therapeutic practitioners, and regional adoption agencies.
What We Are Looking For:
- Registration: Active registration with Social Work England (SWE).
- Experience: Post-qualifying experience within statutory Children's Social Care (Adoption, Permanency, Child Protection, CIN, or Court teams).
- Transferrable Skills: Strong assessment, report-writing, and family engagement skills with an understanding of trauma-informed practice.
